Mount Dewitt
A field party, studying tephra layers in the ice, traversed much of the ice area around Mount Dewitt during the 1996-97 field season. One specimen was found on bare ice. Another specimen was found on bedrock a short distance below a bare ice slope. During the 2003-2004 season an Italian party recovered another specimen from the area (Russel et al., 2004).
The three specimens recovered from Mount Dewitt are given in the listing below.
Acknowledgments; Nelia Dunbar, Richard Esser, and Bill McIntosh contributed the two Mount Dewitt meteorite specimens to the Antarctic meteorite collection.
